Jimmy’s Birthday…without cake!

A green balloon with the words Happy birthday written in bold red letters on it, floating against a plain white background.
We celebrated Jimmy's birthday in our "pajama lounge" in style... but without cake. I was rather disappointed, as I love a good slice of chocolate cake, especially chocolate icing, even though my water bowl has to be flushed after.  One slice also ensures a sugar buzz of 8 hours, and about 12 000 swimming laps.

Estie celebrates with a birdie cake

A cartoon illustration of a red, round bird with angry eyes, thick black eyebrows, a yellow beak, and small tufts of feathers on its head, resembling the character from Angry Birds.
Estie, our fantastic delivery manager, was most thrilled with her "Angry Birds" cake.  We surprised her with this red and yellow fluffy looking cake as she is most fond of these animated characters.

Slipper Day

A circular logo with a sun, clouds, and a rainbow. Text reads: reach for a dream above, and “REACH FOR YOUR SLIPPERS” in bold blue letters below.
Here at Project Portfolio Office there is no doubt that we are a social bunch who like to support initiatives that allow us do fun things. Friday the 2nd of August saw us reaching for our slippers, in what was PPO’s first time in supporting the Slipper Day initiative, certainly not the last though, as … Continue reading "Slipper Day"

We welcome a new team member

The word Welcome is written in colorful, bold 3D letters. The letter O is yellow with sun rays around it, resembling a sun. The image has a cheerful and inviting feel on a white background.
We have moved into a great new office, and now we have a fantastic new team member.  Meet our very pretty new sales consultant, Lizette le Roux.  Welcome to the team, we wish you well and much success (and lots of sales) at Project Portfolio Office.

Nelson Mandela Day

Silhouette of Nelson Mandela with raised arm, filled with handwritten words. Text reads: PPO is a proud advocate of Nelson Mandela Day. PPO logo and website appear at the bottom right.
Along with so many other South Africans, Project Portfolio Office celebrated Nelson Mandela Day on July the 18th, doing our bit to inspire individuals to help change the world for the better, and in doing so, to build a global movement for good. The ReadabookSA campaign, run by the South African Reading Foundation, is an … Continue reading "Nelson Mandela Day"

Friday is Braai-Day

A close-up of a juicy steak being cooked on a grill with a sprig of rosemary and barbecue tongs. The words BRAAI DAY are written in bold white letters over the image.
A perk to having a private balcony...quick Friday afternoon Braai! I was left inside for this event as the smoke mists up my bowl and leaves me rather light headed.  I was happy to watch from inside, as the team enjoyed their boerie rolls.  I prefer my flakes to meat...eating a fellow animal doesn't generally … Continue reading "Friday is Braai-Day"

Giving Back to LIV!

A red circle with LIV in white text at the center, surrounded by eight smaller circles in various colors: red, orange, yellow, light green, green, blue, light blue, and purple, arranged in a circular pattern.
For Earth Day 2013, PPO wanted to impress Mother Nature by activating our green fingers. A client, who is also a passionate volunteer at Lungisisa Indlela Village (LIV), approached our team with a request for a gift that would keep giving - trees. This fully sustainable village in Kwa-Zulu Natal places children without parents into … Continue reading "Giving Back to LIV!"

Geelbooi celebrates with a new appliance

Red handwritten-style text reads Happy Birthday with three red stars on a white background.
Geelbooi, our fantastic driver, celebrated his birthday today with the PPO team.  We all clubbed in together and gifted him a brand new oven/stove combo. Needless to say his wife was as thrilled as he was and we hope many great meals will be prepared on the their new appliance.
