We mixed and we fried at the team cook-off

The enthusiastic Project Portfolio Office (PPO) team members recently enjoyed a team building challenge, with a good, old fashioned cook-off at Liv’In Batterie de Cuisine in Pretoria. This multi-coloured restaurant boasts a “Master Chef” style kitchen that is used to facilitate culinary training. We thought it fitting to arrive at the venue already in-character, with tall chef hats crowning our heads. A deck of cards determined the team players’ fates and divided us into two teams.

The menu was comprised of chicken wings, gourmet saucy burgers and an ice cream sundae that was whipped to perfection. After much banter, and baking, the hearty dishes were feasted on by all and points awarded thereafter by each satisfied team member. The total score determined the overall winners, and the black-hat team, with its wonderful sticky starter and sugar-laced pudding, beat out the bun-baking white-hat team by 0.1 points. It is not often that Guy loses…especially not to a chicken wing.
