Nelson Mandela Day

Silhouette of Nelson Mandela with raised arm, filled with handwritten words. Text reads: PPO is a proud advocate of Nelson Mandela Day. PPO logo and website appear at the bottom right.

Along with so many other South Africans, Project Portfolio Office celebrated Nelson Mandela Day on July the 18th, doing our bit to inspire individuals to help change the world for the better, and in doing so, to build a global movement for good.

The ReadabookSA campaign, run by the South African Reading Foundation, is an initiative we are proud to have supported on this year’s Mandela Day, as we wanted to assist in creating a culture of reading amongst South African children. The campaign inspired us to donate and read colourfully illustrated children books to the children at the Phehella Day and Night Care Centre in Silverton, Pretoria. For 67 minutes, a number of PPO-ers kept the children entertained with animated expressions and exaggerated character voices.
