PPO shares the warmth this winter

As part of its pledge to provide ongoing assistance and support to the residents of Boitumelo Children’s Home in Soshanguve, Pretoria,  employees of Project Portfolio Office (PPO) came together in full force to collect blankets in order to provide the home with some much needed warmth over these cold winter months. More than 95 blankets were collected by the team and handed over to Sophie Msiza, Boitumelo’s founder and housemother, ensuring that each child received a brand new blanket, with some additional spares. The expression on the faces of the children as they received their blankets warmed the cockles of the PPO teamsters’ hearts.

Boitumelo Children’s Home is home to 42 children, aged from one to 20 years, who have suffered extreme hardships and even worse living conditions. Established by Sophie Msiza in 2000, she is assisted by six caregivers who generously and selflessly volunteer their time to love, care and educate these forgotten kids. Sophie is dependent on donations from the community to manage this very basic home environment.

We are looking forward to spend more time with them again on Mandela Day on 18 July 2014.
